Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of Fic, an iOS reading app provided by Dreamyard Labs LLC (“Dreamyard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using Fic, you agree to these terms.

1. Independent App

Fic is an independent app for accessing fanfiction content from third-party sources such as FanFiction.net. Fic is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FanFiction.net or any other third-party content source. Third-party content remains the responsibility of its authors and the source that hosts it.

2. Your Use of Fic

You agree to use Fic only for lawful personal reading and account-management purposes. You may not use Fic to attack, overload, scrape at abusive scale, bypass access controls, or interfere with any third-party service.

If you sign in to a third-party account through Fic, you are responsible for complying with that service’s own terms and policies.

3. Vault Subscriptions

Fic offers optional paid access to Vault features, including premium reading fonts, premium themes, FanFiction.net sync features, follow and favorite sync, and offline downloads.

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings. Any free trial, if offered, converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends. Apple handles billing, refunds, cancellation, and subscription management.

The legacy lifetime entitlement from the previous FreeFiction naming is honored for users who already purchased it, but it is deprecated and no longer the primary product.

4. Content and Intellectual Property

Fic does not own third-party stories, profiles, reviews, or other hosted content displayed through the app. All rights in that content belong to the applicable authors or rights holders.

Fic’s app design, code, branding, and original materials are owned by Dreamyard Labs LLC or its contributors, except for third-party libraries, fonts, icons, and source content that remain subject to their own licenses.

5. Availability

Fic depends on third-party services that we do not control. Content, sync, login, search, downloads, and account features may stop working if a third-party service changes, blocks access, experiences downtime, or removes content.

6. Disclaimers

Fic is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free behavior, availability of third-party content, or compatibility with future changes made by third-party services.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dreamyard Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, subscriptions, access, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of Fic.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of Fic after an update means you accept the updated terms.
