Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dreamyard Labs LLC (“Dreamyard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Fic, our iOS reading app.

Fic is designed as a reader. The current app build does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information. Most app data is stored locally on your device or in your Apple-managed purchase history.

1. Information Fic Handles

Fic may store the following on your device:

• Reading library, favorites, follows, collections, downloads, reading progress, settings, and app preferences.
• Cached story and chapter data so pages load faster and Vault users can read downloaded chapters offline.
• FanFiction.net login state, cookies, username, and user ID if you choose to sign in.
• Notification preferences and local notification records.
• Purchase entitlement state, used only to unlock Vault features after Apple verifies a purchase.

2. Third-Party Content and Requests

Fic may request content from third-party services such as FanFiction.net or FicHub when you browse, search, read, sync, download, or open author and story pages. Those services receive the network requests needed to provide the content you requested.

Fic is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FanFiction.net or FicHub. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

3. Apple Purchases

Vault purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Fic receives purchase and entitlement status from Apple so it can unlock paid features. Fic does not receive your full payment card number.

Apple’s privacy practices are governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

4. FanFiction.net Login and Sync

If you sign in to FanFiction.net through Fic, the app uses your session to load account-backed data such as favorites, follows, alerts, and profile-related information. Fic stores the session locally so you do not need to sign in every time you open the app.

Fic does not intentionally collect your FanFiction.net password after login completes. Login pages are provided through web views and third-party services.

5. Downloads and Cached Content

Downloaded stories and cached chapters are stored on your device. You can delete downloads and cached chapter data from Fic Settings.

6. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Fic may schedule local reading reminders or app notifications on your device. You can disable notification permission in iOS Settings.

7. Analytics and Advertising

The current Fic build does not include third-party analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs. If analytics are added in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version ships.

8. Data Sharing

Dreamyard does not sell personal information. Fic shares information only as needed to:

• Communicate with third-party services you choose to access through the app.
• Verify purchases and subscription status through Apple.
• Comply with law, enforce terms, or protect the app and users.

9. Data Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear cache/downloads, sign out where available, or uninstall the app. Apple purchase records are managed by Apple. Third-party content and account records are managed by the third-party services that host them.

10. Children

Fic is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Fic, contact us so we can help address it.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of Fic after an update means you accept the updated policy.
